About Megapaints Bloemfontein

Megapaints Bloemfontein started business in 1997 by Albert and Paulina Geldenhuys on the same premises as Norpack at 3 Oranje Street, Hamilton, Bloemfontein and still resides today. Bruce and Stephen joined In September 1997 followed by Johanna in January 1998. Dulux and Stevensons were the major Brands that were sold at that time. In Middle 1998 the Shop split with Decorative Paints moving to the Westdene Bloemfontein.

The Megapaints Premises in Oranje Street Hilton Bloemfontein still served as a warehouse for Bulk Stock. In 2000 another shop was opened in Rhodes Avenue, Oranjesig to deal with the premier automotive section of the business. At that time the shop in Westdene was moved to join with the shop in Rhodes Avenue.

In 2002 the entire shop moved back to Oranje Str. and then occupied the entire opposite part of the building next to Norpack from where it is still trading until today. The different paint departments eg.

The Wood finishing, Automotives basecoat and 2k systems, Industrial and decorative paints were extended. In December 2004 the business had a change of ownership when Lourens Viljoen took over as owner/manager. As time progressed the staff number grew from three to thirteen and new brands were introduced like Excelsior Paints, Technipaints and Plascon automotive, industrial and decorative became the major inhouse brand.
